Armada is a medium-sized Russian IT company with particular expertise in software and IT services. It was established in 1997 as the IT division of RBC Infosystems, formerly a major Russian internet/media company which was spun off as an independent company via an IPO in 2007. Although Armada was only ranked as Russia’s 33rd largest IT company by revenues in 2011 ($158 mln), it is listed among the top five Russian software developers and top ten IT government suppliers, according to CNews and Expert-RA, thanks to its gradual approach to strategic development via niche products and reasoned approach to M&A.
